I recently got an email from a Bat-Blog Fan who said that he wants to get a Batman Tattoo in the "Animated Series" Art Style ( Awesome! ). He plans on having Batman & another Villain. His 2 choices for the bad guy are either The Riddler or Mr. Freeze.He said that his main problem is trying to find some decent graphics to use. He's done a Google "Image Search" & came up with nothing. I tried too & was surprised by how little there was online.So, this post is to ask Bat-Blog Readers out there if YOU have any decent pics, or ideas where to find them, then please shoot us an email. Now, my idea is for him to hit a Comic Book Store & dig through the back issues. There were a few different titles that had the "animated series" characters. The graphic up above is an example. I think if he dug into a few of these books he could find some comic panels that have awesome graphics.

The Bat-Blog was recently blessed with a preview of a brand-new illustration by famed Graphic Designer Christopher Franchi. He's the Art Director for Metaluna 5 Media, which handles a lot of licensed properties like: KISS, Bettie Page, Alice Cooper, Star Trek, Superman, Spawn, Peanuts, Evil Dead, Betty Boop and the list goes on & on. Here is an EXCLUSIVE & Super-Awesome 1966 BATMAN WALLPAPER Chris created for the BAT-BLOG! Well, he did all the artwork & I put the Bat-Blog Logo on it, ha! Now, of course, this image relates to the 1960's BATMAN MOVIE because it shows Lee Merriwether as Catwoman. Plus, it's got the other Super-Evil Villains: The Joker ( Cesar Romero ), The Penguin ( Burgess Meredith ), The Riddler ( Frank Gorshin ), and the Hero himself, BATMAN ( Adam West )! The artwork is extremely amazing! The illustrations were all done on Cold-Press Art Board with Gouache and Colored Pencil. Then, they were scanned and assembled digitally. I like how each character has their own colored-outline, to make them sort of pop-off the page. There is also that "light ray" effect that's pretty freakin' cool!! Here's a totally cool personal photo sent in to the Bat-Blog. It shows our friend Gene when he got to meet Frank Gorshin, Live in Person, at the Chiller Theatre Convention back in 1999. He said he was extremely gracious & a very nice guy, very down to earth. Actually, this is the only thing I have ever heard about him, that he was just a really great guy to be around. As a little kid I always loved him as the Riddler on the 1966 BATMAN TV Show. It's so cool that he was such a good person too. RIP Mr. Gorshin, you are missed. OK, This week's "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday" is gonna get really really weird, ha! First off we have a very nice piece of art sent in to us by our friend Gary. It's an image of one of the strangest Super-Villains in Comic Book history, COMPOSITE SUPERMAN! This weird character has developed sort of a cult following over the years & keeps making appearances from time to time. Basically, his costume is half-Batman and half-Superman. Next up, the Bat-Blog is mostly known for being a place where Serious Batman Toy Collectors show-up. The history of merchandise for the Caped Crusader is vast & we love all the cool vintage stuff that's been made over the years. One area of collecting that I have always loved are the Mego Dolls from the 1970's. In this wallpaper I used a simple clean photo of THE RIDDLER Figure. Go ahead, try it as a background, you'll like it, ha!
Hey Kiddos! It's Wednesday so you know what time it is... "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday"!! We have some great stuff this week so let's get to it. The 1st one is a Batman background with a simple color palette. Basically, it's comic book style graphics ( line art ) in 2 shades of blue, Nice! This was submitted by our friend Galen, who, I think colored it. Either way it's pretty awesome! The next wallpaper is a publicity photo for the BATMAN LIVE World Arena Tour. There hasn't been much news or hype about this UK event lately so I thought this image would be fun!
We're excited! The Bat-Blog just got some awesome new photos showing the costumes and set design for the UK stage show of BATMAN LIVE WORLD ARENA TOUR!! They were very large pics so I decided to offer them as super-fun BATMAN LIVE WALLPAPERS you can use to brighten your desktop's background. All the photos are pretty much self-explanatory! The 1st one shows the costumes for some of the characters: The Joker, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Batman, Robin, Riddler, The Penguin, & Poison Ivy. The next wallpaper features just Batman and Robin, but it shows a lot of details to their costume design. Last, but not least, the final photo shows what the "Gotham City" Set Design of the Stage will look like. So, which costume is your favorite?
YES! FINALLY! We finally get some decent press coverage from the BATMAN LIVE World Tour Show that will start in the UK & then arrive later in the US. Oh yeah, Featured in these 4 Video Clips: We get to see the Set Design, an Animation Sample for the Stage Video Screen, a CG representation of Harley Quinn's Carnival & also Wayne Manor ( with a very small teaser of the Bat-Cave ), and then the very last video shows all the Actors & their Costumes! Oh man, everything looks really really AWESOME!! I think this show is going to be incredible!
Most Loyal Readers of the Bat-Blog are pretty serious Batman Fans. In fact, some of them even go out & get tattoos to prove it! Here's a great example: Shown here is an amazing tattoo of THE RIDDLER that our friend Derrick just got recently. It's based on the Batman comic book art of Tony Daniel. Warner Bros & Rocksteady just released some images of THE RIDDLER from the New BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY Video Game! Everyone remembers how the Riddler played a part in the last game, Arkham Asylum. There was a Bonus play where you searched around for "Riddler Clues". But the thing was, they never really showed him. You mostly just heard his voice. Well, in this sequel to the "Game of The Year", the Riddler plays a major role. These 2 Wallpaper backgrounds celebrate this ( Please share these with all your friends ).
Our friend, The BATFAN, sent us these wonderful photos of some brand-new Batman merchandise he recently added to his collection, BATMAN GOLF CLUB COVERS! They're made by a company called "Creative Covers" ( Link down below ). Basically there are 2 different sets. One set consists of Batman characters: The Dark Knight, Joker, Penguin, & Riddler that are sort of like Plush Animals. If I got the info correct I think they're about 24" long, that's pretty BIG! Then there are some that are standard head covers and they have a more modern-day BATMAN comic book logo on them. I'm not sure if these are made by Creative Covers because they're packaged for retail sale & look different. But all of these covers are really cool, especially the plush ones! YES! The RIDDLER is going to be making an appearance on the latest episode of BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD! He'll be in tonight's teaser section & his graphic style is totally awesome! I love how he looks like he is right out of the Silver Age. I can't wait to see it! This is the "teaser part" of the cartoon that they show in the beginning. I love the Vintage Silver-Age look of The Riddler! I totally love Original Comic Book Art & if I could afford it I would totally collect it. I have a few pieces of art but nothing really Batman-related. Well, I did meet Art Baltazar recently & got an "Adam West Batman" sketch from him. So, OK, maybe 1 item. But shown here is an amazing piece of art that I would totally love to have. This is the original cover art for BATMAN CONFIDENTIAL # 28. It's done by no other than Jose Luis Garcia Lopez, a legend in the industry. It features the Riddler as the main villain & the composition is really striking. Be sure to click on the picture of the artwork for a larger, more detailed, photo ...it's really really nice! Over at the Professor Plastik website they have a ton of very cool BATMAN PAPER CRAFT MODEL KIT ACTION FIGURES you can download & create...for FREE! Shown here are The Dynamic Duo, Batman & Robin! They also have a lot of wonderful Super-Villains too! As an example I am only showing The Joker & Riddler, but they also have: The Scarecrow, Dr. Hugo Strange, Two-Face, & Clayface. Now, keep in mind that these are the "Golden Age" versions like the characters existed in the 1940's. Personally, I think they are total works of ART! In Argentina, in 1978 & '79, DC Comics teamed up with Pepsi-Cola for a very cool DC SUPER HERO Promotion! They had special Super Hero Bottle Caps placed on their Pepsi Soda Pop Bottles with very cool graphics of a comic book hero or villain. Quite a few of them were Batman-related so that's what you see in the 1st photo, click on it for a larger version. They made ones for Batman, Robin, Commissioner Gordon ( Comisionado Gordon ), Batgirl ( Batichica ), Bruce Wayne ( Bruno Diaz ), The Joker, The Riddler ( El Acertijo ), The Penguin ( Pinguino ), Catwoman ( Gatubela ), Ra's Al Ghul ( Ragul ), & The Scarecrow ( El Espantapajaros ). The next two photos show a special in-store Paper Place Mat that contained a "Collector Board" on one side ( in color ) & a "Checker Game" on the other. These photos also show the other Bottle Caps of Superman, Aquaman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Flash, etc...so be sure to click on one of those to see them! I gotta say that I am totally loving the vintage graphics on all of this stuff, great stock art! The last photo is a super close-up of the BATICHICA Bottle Cap. I really love the sound of that word, Batichica! Speaking of her, these photos were all sent in by our good friend Milotik who lives in Argentina ( Thank You! ). These DC Comics Bottle Caps are a part of his amazing Batgirl Toy Collection. You see, Milotik's main collecting focus is on her & that's very cool.
