Our friend Hannah shared these wonderful pics with me the other night of her friend Paul. He lives in Australia & made this amazing MR FREEZE Costume. Of course it's the "Arnold Schwarzenegger" version from the 1997 BATMAN AND ROBIN Movie. WOW! It lights-up & everything, ha! That's impressive! Great Job Paul & Thanks Hannah. It's so cool to see Batman popular in foreign countries, I love that!
This is just a quick post to share some photos of an extremely cool MR FREEZE Costume that was made by a friend of the Bat-Blog. His name is Paul and we're totally impressed with this awesome suit/props. Of course it's the version of the character from the older TV Cartoon, "Batman, The Animated Series". The likeness is very well done. I totally love the Glass Dome Helmet & Freeze-Gun, ha!
OK, Just to be clear, this is not Anne Hathaway as Catwoman but her stunt double. But regardless the video is still pretty cool because we not only get to see some of the filming of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES in Pittsburgh, but we get a good view of the Costume and the Bat-Pod Motorcycle!
A friend just sent me this great photo taken by Photographer Jared Wickerman showing Actor TOM HARDY as BANE in Full-Costume! ( Click on it for a larger, sharper version ). He took some nice pics & it looks like everybody had a good time. Hey, just check out these great costumes! The Los Angeles County Museum of Art will present Tim Burton, a major retrospective exploring the full range of Tim Burton's creative work, both as a director of live-action and animated films, and as an artist, illustrator, photographer, and writer. Showcased here are just a few of the "Batman Items" that will be present. We got an original Batman Cowl from a Batman Movie, plus some Costume Design Drawings of both the Penguin & Catwoman from "Batman Returns" and one of The Joker ( Jack Nicholson ) from 1989's BATMAN. Plus, you know there will be much much more! Wow! It looks like a great show!It will be on view at LACMA from May 29th ( This Sunday! ) through October 31st, 2011, the exhibition brings together over 700 drawings, paintings, photographs, moving-image works, storyboards, puppets, concept artworks, maquettes, costumes, and cinematic ephemera, including art from a number of unrealized and little-known personal projects. Many of these objects come from the artist's own archive, as well as from studio archives and private collections of Burton's collaborators.Also, IMPORTANT BOOK SIGNING NOTICE:Tim Burton will be available at the LAC Museum on SATURDAY, May 28th to personally sign the exhibition catalog book. This is going to fit into "Weird & Wacky Bat-News" but it's kinda fun so follow me here. A friend of the Bat-Blog, named Travis, was channel surfing the other day & couldn't believe his eyes when he saw a guy on TV dressed as a beaten and bloodied Robin/Jason Todd! But he managed to sneak a screen shot so check out the pic! Yes! That's Jason Todd, AFTER being beaten by The Joker with a Crowbar!! Good eye Travis. Now, for people who want to see the entire episode, it's online for a limited time at the CBS website. This is the show that aired on April 15th, just click HERE! Oh yeah, as a side note, I think the "Hawaiian Girl" is kinda cute, ha!
We're excited! The Bat-Blog just got some awesome new photos showing the costumes and set design for the UK stage show of BATMAN LIVE WORLD ARENA TOUR!! They were very large pics so I decided to offer them as super-fun BATMAN LIVE WALLPAPERS you can use to brighten your desktop's background. All the photos are pretty much self-explanatory! The 1st one shows the costumes for some of the characters: The Joker, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Batman, Robin, Riddler, The Penguin, & Poison Ivy. The next wallpaper features just Batman and Robin, but it shows a lot of details to their costume design. Last, but not least, the final photo shows what the "Gotham City" Set Design of the Stage will look like. So, which costume is your favorite?
YES! FINALLY! We finally get some decent press coverage from the BATMAN LIVE World Tour Show that will start in the UK & then arrive later in the US. Oh yeah, Featured in these 4 Video Clips: We get to see the Set Design, an Animation Sample for the Stage Video Screen, a CG representation of Harley Quinn's Carnival & also Wayne Manor ( with a very small teaser of the Bat-Cave ), and then the very last video shows all the Actors & their Costumes! Oh man, everything looks really really AWESOME!! I think this show is going to be incredible!
Here's a wonderful photo my friend Leslie sent to us yesterday. She took a trip to the Smithsonian American History Museum & thought of the Bat-Blog when she saw this. Shown here is a museum display case with the original CATWOMAN COSTUME worn by Lee Meriwether in the 1966 BATMAN Movie. Now, I went to this Museum when I was a very little kid, many many years ago. I remember they had some totally amazing stuff & I thought it was so cool that I got to touch an actual moon rock, ha! I wanna thank Leslie for taking this pic & sharing it with us, that's very sweet. I recently came across a wonderful blog called "Sewing Cafe". It's a personal site of an Artist named Lynne Williams. There, she posts a lot of "How To" Articles & Tutorials on Craft Sewing Projects. This girl is an expert at making "Adam West-Style" Costumes. Just like the one seen on the 1966 BATMAN TV Show. The cool thing is she shares a lot of this information on her website. Here's a wonderful photo sent in by our good friend Batmobilly. This is a picture of his Daughter dressed-up as Batgirl & her friend as Robin. Batmobilly said, as both a Father and Major Batman Fan, this was a very proud moment for him. I have to agree. I mean, the costumes do look extremely cool!
Here's an extremely wonderful photo sent in by a Bat-Blog Fan named David. It shows his beautiful one month old Son Mason sporting one of the onesies that Mason's Mom picked up from Kmart. The great thing, it's made to look like a Batman Bat-Suit Costume! Thank you David for sharing this very sweet family moment. Your Mason IS a true Superhero!! I mean, "He is The Dark Knight!"
YES!! For a few days now I have been dying to get this photo posted! This is a picture sent in by our friend Neal of his cute 3 year old nephew Jack. It looks like we have a Major Batman Fan right here!! I totally love this photo. I mean, if you don't think it's the coolest thing you have seen in a very long time then you just have no soul, ha ha! C'mon, This little kid is extremely awesome!! As a side note, I love the fact that he has his trusty Bat-Cycle just to the left of him. You know, just in case he needs to run to the scene of a new crime to catch the Joker, ha ha! ( Thanks to Neal for sharing this wonderful pic. Please tell Jack that he is great! ).
