BATMAN LIVE - COSTUMES and STAGE DESIGN - Wallpaper Backgrounds

We're excited! The Bat-Blog just got some awesome new photos showing the costumes and set design for the UK stage show of BATMAN LIVE WORLD ARENA TOUR!! They were very large pics so I decided to offer them as super-fun BATMAN LIVE WALLPAPERS you can use to brighten your desktop's background. All the photos are pretty much self-explanatory! The 1st one shows the costumes for some of the characters: The Joker, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Batman, Robin, Riddler, The Penguin, & Poison Ivy. The next wallpaper features just Batman and Robin, but it shows a lot of details to their costume design. Last, but not least, the final photo shows what the "Gotham City" Set Design of the Stage will look like. So, which costume is your favorite?

Costume Tutorial - How To Make Batman Gloves ( Adam West Style )

I recently came across a wonderful blog called "Sewing Cafe". It's a personal site of an Artist named Lynne Williams. There, she posts a lot of "How To" Articles & Tutorials on Craft Sewing Projects. This girl is an expert at making "Adam West-Style" Costumes. Just like the one seen on the 1966 BATMAN TV Show. The cool thing is she shares a lot of this information on her website. So, if you're in the market to create a cool new bat-suit, check it out! You can visit her site by clicking HERE!

Here's a wonderful photo sent in by our good friend Batmobilly. This is a picture of his Daughter dressed-up as Batgirl & her friend as Robin. Batmobilly said, as both a Father and Major Batman Fan, this was a very proud moment for him. I have to agree. I mean, the costumes do look extremely cool!

Johnny's CUSTOM BATMAN & ROBIN GI Joe Doll Clothes

This is a really nice story. Here's some pics sent in by a Bat-Blog Reader named Johnny. When he was a little kid, back in the 1970's, a lady who was a good neighbor made him some Batman & Robin clothes for his large 12" GI Joe Dolls. They were made to sort of be like the Mego Superhero Figures we all know & love. Well, out of sentimental reasons he has kept these outfits for all these years. Later, he got some large dolls to display the mini-costumes as a way to remember her ( she recently passed away ). Now I think these clothes are just totally wonderful & she did a great job on them. OK, I know that they're not totally perfect or completely accurate but a lot of goodness & love went into making them. So for that reason they're really special. Plus, they actually are pretty cool! Thanks to Johnny for sharing his nice story & pics.

The BATMAN FAMILY To The Rescue!

OK, This is a really really great, very heart warming, story! This photo is of the Hughes Family who live in the UK. They recently sent us this picture. Now at first I thought they had dressed-up for Halloween ( Do they have Halloween in England? ) but they did not. To help explain everything I'm just going to quote the letter they sent & it will give you a way better idea. Here it is:
The reason we were all dressed up was because my Mum hadn't been feeling very well, she is disabled and gets very down a lot. So we thought we would cheer her up by dressing up and going out in broad daylight to see her. My Mother had never seen us dressed like this before, but she has heard that my husband Richard loves Batman and owns a Bat-Suit. My Mother has never laughed so hard and we got so many strange looks from people on the drive over there! Batman with his mask on in the car, with a little Batman and two Joker villains...Yes, very funny!
I agree! Yes, Very funny indeed! See, I told you it would be a great story!! This is completely wonderful! I wanna thank the Hughes Family for sharing their photos. It's great that good things like this still happen from time to time. I bet your Mum will NEVER forget that special day, ha! If any other Bat-Blog Readers have similar events to share then please do. Send us some pics & your story!

BATMAN AND ROBIN Halloween Costume Memories

OK, I know Halloween is over but the Batman Costume Photos are ALWAYS a total joy to see all year round! Plus, 2 different Bat-Blog Readers just sent these in & they're so neat I have to share them. The 1st photo is from a very proud parent named Jim. These 2 Caped Crusaders are his sons & the costumes were homemade by his Wife ( she did a great job ). The picture was taken back in 1993 & these kids are now young adults going to college. The next photo is pretty funny! This is our friend Jeff & he dressed-up as the Dark Knight last Halloween to hand out candy at his house. He said he was kinda shocked that a lot of little kids were totally scared of Batman. Well, he does sort of look like a Giant-Bat, ha ha! But he said that most of them had fun & overall, it was a great experience, that cool. Thanks to both Jim & Jeff for sending these fun pics, I really appreciate that. I want to invite all Bat-Blog Fans to do the same!

Video: BAT-DUDE Visits The Children's Hospital of Illinois

Here are 2 recent videos from a Bat-Blog Fan named Kevin. He is part of a group known as "Heroes On Parade". They donate their time for charity events dressed as their favorite TV & comic book characters. Personally, I think that's a really wonderful thing to do so I wanna send my thanks out to them. Keep up the good work. I know that when you guys visit children in Hospitals & stuff that it really does make a difference in their healing process. Plus, when you guys create an environment that causes awareness of some charity event it does go to creating many more donations. So, Thank You. Kevin said that "seeing the BIG smiles on little kid's faces is worth more than a pot of gold" & he's amazed at how many children totally get excited about meeting Batman. The videos shown here were taken at the recently held Peoria, Illinois Family Fun Fest event where Kevin quickly became known as "The Bat Dude " ! This is a fun-filled yearly event that benefits the Children's Hospital of Illinois. The One day event, held inside the Peoria Civic center, drew an estimated 6000 Kids and Families...cool, very cool!

BAT-SQUAD 2009: Batman, Catwoman, & Batgirl!

Here are some awesome pics from last Halloween sent in by a Bat-Blog Fan named BatDave, The Drunk Knight ( who lives in New Jersey ). He wrote,
I was fortunate enough to talk my girlfriend Lisa and her stunning pal Delia into being my own personal Batgirl and Catwoman for a huge Halloween party in Woodbridge, NJ. I realize that our costumes are an amalgam of various Bat-phases, but the crowd went wild when we entered the nite club. Especially when my 2 ladies broke into a mock cat fight!! We won a $200 second prize and had an incredible night of super heroic fun!!
( Jealous ) Hey Dave, I think you guys should have got 1st Place. That contest must have surely been rigged! Lisa & Delia both look totally awesome & their costumes are great! Yours is not too shabby either. It looks like you Party Animals had a lot of fun & that's very cool. Thanks for sending the wonderful pics, they're great!

ROBIN, THE GIRL WONDER!!

OK, no matter who you are, you HAVE GOT to admit that this is the cutest little girl you have ever seen! This is our friend Gavin's Daughter who dressed up like Robin ( The Girl Wonder! ) last Halloween. He explains a lot of the stuff you see in the photos a lot better than I could so check this out:
This year my 2 1/2 year old daughter and I dressed up as Robin and Batman. We spent some time designing and making her costume, which she got such a kick out of and it turned out pretty good. We looked up pictures from the comics when Stephanie Brown had a short stint as Robin and we did what we could to mimic her costume. I joined her as a hastily-put-together Batman. Our church had a "trunk-or-treat" event where we handed out candy from the decorated trunks of our cars. We went with a Gotham City backdrop. It was fun watching some of the kids come around trick-or-treating and stare at the action figures in the trunk, thinking they were so cool.
OK, That explains the Gotham City scene in the car! I was really confused by that when I first saw it but totally get it now. Wow! That's a pretty cool idea & very creative, I love it! But what I mostly like are the costumes. I think it's really neat when parents & children dress-up in matching costumes, especially as Batman characters. That's always very sweet & I'm sure that the kids always get a total kick out of it. OK, The parents have fun too but you know what I mean! Thank you Gavin for sharing your story & wonderful pics with us. Please tell your daughter that she makes an excellent Robin!

Vintage 70's Photo: Kids Dressed-Up as 1966 Batman, Robin, & The Penguin!

This photo cracks me up every time I see it, ha ha! Plus, the costumes are very impressive. This photo from a Color Slide was sent in by a friend named Ralph & it's a picture of some Batman-related Costumes his Mother made for Ralph when he was a little kid in 1974 or 1975. The details are insane & of course it's the 1966 TV Show version of the characters. He said that they used to wear these costumes & make small plays with them. Plus, while doing so, they would photograph each different sequence. Then later, when they projected the slides on the wall ( in correct order ) they sort-of had a Batman movie! Wow! This is really creative & must have been a lot of fun too! I also gotta say that Ralph's Mom did an incredible job on these costumes...they're really great! Thanks Ralph for sharing your story & this fun vintage family photo. If any other Bat-Blog Fans have similar experiences then please send us some pics!

Batman Halloween Costumes: Batgirl & The Joker!

Last Halloween my girlfriend & her best friend went around town to a few clubs & parties. They were dressed as very sexy "Vampire Babes"! Outside, at one bar, they saw these people all dressed-up & they knew they had to get some pics for the Bat-Blog. All of their bat-costumes were pretty cool. Shown here, we have a very Hot Batgirl & a totally Crazy Joker! He looks like he just broke out of Arkham Asylum, ha ha! Thank you to Kandye & Ducki for getting these very cool photos!

The BAT-FAMILY Batman Costume Photo Shoot!

Last Halloween our good friends Dallas & Daria went to a fundraiser event dressed as Batman & Catwoman. They also dressed their son Xander as Robin, The Boy Wonder! The costumes were really awesome but the cool thing was that they had their family portrait done by a Professional Photographer. Here are the pics: The 1st one is sort of a regular family snap shot but it's so cool because they're all in costume. Now the 2nd one is my personal favorite because it's a little more creative & very cute. Daria is holding her son up in the air & he's laughing while Dad is proudly looking up at him, very sweet & a clever composition. I think when Xander gets to be a lot older he's going to really cherish all these photos. The last one is pretty good too. It's sort of an "action shot" where everyone is a little more dynamic. Overall they're all really great & so are the costumes. Thanks to the "Bat-Family" for sharing these wonderful photos, Good Job!

Some Awesome BATMAN & CATWOMAN Costumes at a Recent Fundraiser Event!

Here's an interesting photo from our friend Dallas. It features him & his wife Daria at a Fundraiser Event. He explained that they were getting some professional photos taken & this one, off to the side, was done with a cheap digital camera. I don't know, I think it looks pretty good! Anyway, as you can see the costumes are really great! I mean, completely insane! ( Click on it for a larger, more detailed, version ) I love when Bat-Fans get super-creative like this, that's awesome! Thanks to Dallas & Daria for sharing this cool pic. I also want to invite all other Bat-Blog Readers to send us some photos too. It can be your Batman Toy Collection, a Recent Tattoo, a Birthday Party Cake ...Just ANYTHING Batman-Related! BATMAN RETURNS Batman & Catwoman Costumes By Zack!

This is our friend Zack with his lovely Girlfriend. Of course he is Batman (1992 BATMAN RETURNS "Michael Keaton" movie version ) & she is perfect as the Catwoman. Zack told me that even though he built his costume himself, with items he found from different locations, he did custom-build the chest piece for this bat-suit. OK, I gotta say that both costumes look really really great & I don't mean any disrespect here but, Dude, your Girlfriend is totally HOT! But all kidding aside, I guarentee that both of you will be a total hit at any party you go to...HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! ( Zack - Thanks for sending the wonderful pics )
