CATWOMAN Bat-Pod and HARLEY QUINN Arkham City - Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday!

For this week's "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday" I thought I would celebrate 2 of the sexiest batman Villains out there, Catwoman & Harley Quinn! Also, the 1st one sort of celebrates "THE DARK KNIGHT RISES" Movie because we all know that Selina Kyle ( Anne Hathaway's character ) is going to be stealing the Bat-Pod in one part of the film. Second, the Harley Quinn image is from the new BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY Video Game that comes out towards the end of 2011.

BATMOBILE REPLICA CARS & GOLDEN AGE BATWOMAN - Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday!

If you read the Bat-Blog yesterday then you know we did a post about the "Michael Uslan Batman Book Signing" that happened in New Jersey last weekend. Well, for the event, they had a few Batmobile Replica Cars on display that were supplied by Gotham City Supercars. That's the 1st BATMAN WALLPAPER presented here. The photo features a very nice 1966 Batmobile & the cool car from the 1989 Movie. I would have tried to steal them BOTH, ha!







Then, the 2nd wallpaper background shares an image of BATWOMAN from the Golden Age. It's a convention drawing by Sheldon Moldoff. You see, I recently got an email from a Bat-Blog Fan asking to see a "Batwoman Background" showing her as she appeared in the TV Cartoon, "Batman: The Brave and The Bold". Yes, she made an appearance. Well, I did have some nice graphics of her but they're on my old computer that I can't access. Then, I searched Google forever trying to find these pics & could never find anything decent. Then, I asked the Warner Bros PR Dept to please send me some pics but that's taking forever. So I finally settled on these. Sorry Dude, I'll have those images for you when I can get them. In the mean time please enjoy this one.

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Movie Wallpapers - CATWOMAN & BATMOBILE

For this week's "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday" I thought I would post a few Batman Backgrounds that celebrate the new 2012 movie, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. So, here are a few scenes when they were filming in Pittsburgh.



The 1st one show Selina Kyle ( Anne Hathaway's Stunt Double ) stealing the Bat-Pod from Gotham City University. I wish this was Anne Hathaway in the official Catwoman Cat-Suit ( no release of that Costume photo yet, but stay tuned to the Bat-Blog.Com ). I think that this is only what she wears early on to steal the vehicle.



OK, speaking of Bat-Vehicles, the next wallpaper is of the Tumbler Batmobile, which will make an early appearance in the film too. Also, it's the "Camouflage" version. I guess it's not been painted black yet, ha!

Warner Bros today "leaked out" some official photos of Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle ( Catwoman ) from THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Batman Movie. She's wearing a sleek black "Super Spy" High-Tech Outfit & I think it has more to do with her in her "Selina Kyle" Persona than as Catwoman, the Villain. It looks like she is stealing the BAT-POD Motorcycle Prototype from Gotham University! But anyway, to celebrate we have taken the best high-resolution photo we could find & made these two ANNE HATHAWAY DESKTOP WALLPAPERS, enjoy!

FREE COOL BATMAN WALLPAPERS - Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday!

OK, Long time Bat-Blog Fans know the drill. Every Wednesday we post a few custom-designed BATMAN Wallpaper Backgrounds for you to enjoy....so, enjoy! The 1st one is an homage to 1970's Batman. I think this artwork was originally the comic book art of Neal Adams, a Bat-Fan favorite! Then, the 2nd one is a parody of the 1960's TV Series Logo. It says, "HENCH", referring to "Henchmen". This is all about some characters on the modern day TV Cartoon, The Venture Bros. On that show there's an evil Super-Villain named "The Monarch" & he has a very large team of Henchmen. This graphic design is actually from a T-Shirt & if you would like more info on that then just click HERE!

BATMAN WALLPAPERS OF THE JOKER - Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday!

Here are 2 Cool Wallpaper Backgrounds of THE JOKER that were submitted by some extremely awesome Bat-Blog Fans! the 1st one is a photo taken the other night at the BATMAN LIVE event in the UK. It was shot by our friend Billy. This is a stage prop where a giant-size JOKER HEAD comes out on stage. The Joker's eyeballs, teeth, & tongue are actually real people and they all tumble out at once, it's a pretty cool visual effect! Next is a Tribute to Brian Bolland's BATMAN: THE KILLING JOKE Graphic Novel. This was sent in by a Graphic Artist named Chris Bacon. He took some classic artwork and gave it a whole new look. Now, the 1st one was made using a high-resolution photo of a Vintage 1940's BATMAN SERIAL Movie Poster. I'm totally loving the "Golden Age" style! The 2nd one was created by a 3-D Computer Artist who was inspired by the 1966 BATMAN TV Show. So, I guess both of these are sort of retro!

The 1st one is an iconic image from the 1966 BATMAN Movie with Adam West ( "Some Days You Just Can't Get Rid of a Bomb!" ). The next background, of course, is the just-released "Teaser Poster" for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES movie. We can't wait to see this new film & the image of Gotham City crumbling is cool!

The 1st one features a great photo of some cute girl wearing a HARLEY QUINN Costume. It's a cosplay photo from the last Philadelphia Comic Con. Yes, she looks kinda crazy, ha ha! The 2nd Wallpaper is a photo of a BAT-MITE Pinback Button that was a promotional item from DC Comics. It's not as wacky as the 1st one but he is a crazy character, so, enjoy.

BATMAN ROBIN and BATGIRL Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday, on Thursday!

I know yesterday was Wednesday and some Bat-Blog Fans look forward to their weekly fix of BATMAN Wallpaper Backgrounds that we post, but we announced the death of the Golden Age Comic Book Artist Lew Sayre Schwartz and it just didn't seem respectful to post anything else. So, here they are now. The 1st one was made using graphics of the box lid for the New 1966 BAT-BOAT Model Kit made by Polar Lights. I like this groovy image, ha! The next one uses a nice picture of Batgirl on her Bat-Cycle that was originally a Warner Bros Store Framed Lithograph. I remember this picture fondly. We used to have a WB Store here where I lived and I really really wanted this piece. They also made a few other in this series & they were all great. I totally loved that store because they had such awesome stuff! Sadly, they closed and I never got the chance to buy any of these prints.

These 2 Bat-Wallpapers were made using graphics from some older Vintage 1966 Batman Coloring Books that some long-time Batman Collectors might recognize! The one showing Robin, in the Bat-Cave using the Bat-Computer, is my top favorite. Wait! The one with the Dynamic Duo aboard the Bat-Boat is my favorite... OK, I can't decide, they're BOTH cool, ha ha!
