People who have been reading the Bat-Blog for awhile might enjoy this, I hope, ha! But I was recently interviewed by a fellow Blogger & Batman Fan, named Jon, who writes the awesome RANDOM ACTS OF GEEKERY website. At his site he wrote some profiles of "Comic Book Related" Bloggers called "The Way of The Geek". I was # 6 in the series. Wow! It was really an honor to be included in this group of Writers. I know some of them, so that's kinda cool. Basically, Jon sent me a ton of questions to answer & I answered them. Then, he edited the content. I really didn't know how it was going to come out but now, after seeing the finished product, Jon did a great job with it. OK, right off the bat I gotta say, "I'm sorry for the delay!" I was going to list the lucky winner of the recent Bat-Blog Contest last night but I feel asleep & slept for almost 10 hours, seriously! YES Boys & Girls! It's time again for a World Famous Bat-Blog Contest where this time the prize we're giving away is an incredible BATMAN BUST Statue from the HEROES OF THE DC UNIVERSE Collection ( it's the 2nd piece to the series )! Oh man, it's so beautiful! Seriously, when I opened the box I was kind of shocked by how nice this thing actually is ( photos don't do it justice ). The details are really insane. You can see "wrinkles" in Batman's Bat-Suit Costume that look very realistic. The base of the statue is meant to look like Gotham City's Dark Knight is perched on a rooftop, near a Gargoyle, & that part looks like it is actually stone & brick material. This hand-painted, cold-cast porcelain bust measures approximately 6" high x 3 1/4" wide x 4 1/2" deep and is packaged in a 4-color box. Overall, the whole thing is very highly detailed. Batman is holding his Bat-a-rang & it looks very real too. The rope is actually a very thick wire & looks kinda neat. Also, the paint job on this baby is really great... the colors are extremely accurate! I could go on & on about how wonderful it is but if you win you'll see. Now, how to enter. Over at the POP CULTURE SHOCK website the Bat-Blog gets a nice mention in the NO CURE FOR COMICS section. OK, Now how awesome is this! Our friend Ronnie sent in this extremely cool Catwoman Wallpaper he made just for the Bat-Blog! It's the modern-day version of the character & I like the red/black motif. I always like when readers send us stuff like this because it's usually something I would not think of at the moment & it gives the site a lot of variety. Thanks Ronnie, you ROCK, Sir!
OK, This is kind of funny! As the main writer of the Bat-Blog I am always constantly stressing out about how I can promote the site. It's a very difficult thing to do. If I were to study the growth of this blog ( or ANY blog for that matter ), it's an extremely slow process to obtain new readers. It totally drives me crazy, ha ha! For example, awhile back I printed a small ad-sheet that I gave to people to advertise the site ( I still do it even today ). But one time, about 2 years ago, I got all "Guerrilla Marketing" about it, & taped one onto a Newspaper Vending Machine. Now the part that's totally hilarious is that it lasted for almost 2 1/2 years! I always wonder if it had any value at all...did it bring in any new people? Probably not, or if so, not too many. One thing I've learned is that the best response is by "word of mouth". So, what I'm gonna do here is ask every single reader of the Bat-Blog, at least those who enjoy the site, to please tell all their friends about it. You can do it inside a Message Board, with a Banner or Bulletin on your MySpace page, a Link on your own Blog, a Link-Post on your Facebook Page, e-mail a friend who likes Batman, etc... But please don't do what I did this one time & plaster a sign on some property, ha ha! If you need to know ways to promote the Bat-Blog or if you need a special-sized banner then just please shoot me an e-mail. I would be more than happy to help! One last thing, I hope a lot of people out there enjoy this site & I want to thank everyone who comes back to read it every single day. It really means a lot.

OK, right now I could not be more proud! Yesterday I received an e-mail from a Bat-Blog Fan named Xavier. He is 9 years old, in the 4th Grade, & really loves to draw comic book characters. He even has a cool website, called "Super Creations", where he shares his artwork. He also really really loves the Bat-Blog! In the letter he sent this picture he recently drew to help promote the Bat-Blog on his website. It's EXTREMELY SUPER-AWESOME!! Please be sure to click on it for a larger, more detailed, version. He drew a bunch of characters in the "Animated Series" style: Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing, The Riddler, Bane, Clayface, & even Two-Face!! I totally love it & really appreciate it, it's great!
