Cool Batmobile Toy Collection From Taiwan & a Batman Japanese Magazine

I know the title for this post is kinda lame. I know I'm suppose to come up with something funny or extremely clever but I'm just not in the mood this morning, OK? ha ha! So, let's get right to it. Recently the Bat-Blog made a new friend in Taiwan named Jerry. Right off the bat he sent us some amazing pictures of Batman Fandom from the other side of the world. OK, I know the Internet has been around for almost 3 decades now but I'm still amazed ( like a Caveman ) about the quick & easy communication with people from anywhere on the globe, it's like magic...I love it! Anyway, Jerry's a nice guy & really into Batman, so that's cool. The 1st pic is a display of some of his favorite Large-Size Toy Batmobiles. You have the Batmobile from the later Animated Series, the Tumbler from The Dark Knight movie, the car from Batman: The Animated Series ( I've always totally loved that car ), the Tim Burton movie car, the Futuristic Flying Batmobile from Batman Beyond, & one of the Vehicles from a later Joel Schumacher Film, Batman Forever. AWESOME!! It's really cool to see them all together like this! Plus, it's a very nice collection. Now the next group of 3 photos is a Japanese Magazine owned by Jerry. It looks like the main cover story is all about the incredible Dolls, Toys, & Action Figures made by HOT TOYS for the DARK KNIGHT movie. I can't read any of this, ha ha, but visually it looks so great & I really love it too! They covered the Christian Bale & Heath Ledger Figures, the Bat-Pod Motorcycle, the Giant-Size Tumbler Vehicle, & some misc ( mainly the Joker Art Bust ). Thanks Jerry for sending all the wonderful pics!! Readers, I will be posting more later so stay tuned for that ( he sent some GREAT stuff ). If there are any other Bat-Fans out there who want to share some of their favorite pieces in their Bat-Toy Collections then please be sure to send us some pics today. Our email button is always on the top right-hand side of this page.

Brand-New MICHAEL KEATON - 1989 BATMAN MOVIE - BUST STATUE for 2010

In honor of DC Comics' 75th Anniversary, Michael Keaton's quintessential portrayal of Batman is presented in art bust form by DC Direct. From the ground-breaking, 1989 Warner Bros blockbuster movie BATMAN, Michael Keaton as Batman is poised for action as he prepares to throw his trademark Batarang. With a Gothic-inspired base, the design is reminiscent of the architectural vision of designer Anton Furst's Academy Award-winning Gotham City. The MICHAEL KEATON AS BATMAN BUST is hand-painted, cold-cast in porcelain, measures approximately 5.75" high x 5.5" wide x 4.5" deep and is packaged in a 4-color box. The retail price will be about $ 80.00 US & it goes on sale September 15th, 2010. Remember, you can pre-order it & save 20% off by clicking the link button down below:

Brand-New BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM ( Video Game ) BLACK AND WHITE Art Statue for 2010

OK, here's another Batman: Black & White Art Statue that I'm sure will totally torture collectors who are too poor to buy them because it's so awesome & beautiful ( I fit that category, ha ha! ). This is Batman as he appeared in the BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM Video Game. I'm really loving the attention to detail here but please keep in mind that this is a prototype-photo & the actual product may vary. Well, either way it's gonna look really great! DC Direct has been doing an amazing job on this statues. This one will be sculpted by Dave Cortes. It's retail price is gonna be about $80.00 & has a release date of September 1st, 2010. So, I guess, start saving your money because you're really going to WANT this one!

1966 BATMAN FINE ART PRINTS From 3-D Monster!

Shown up above are some crazy-groovy art prints made by a Graphic Designer named Dan Bru. He really loves unusual pieces of pop culture from the 1960's & 70's especially Old Toys, Horror Movies, Vintage TV Shows, Tin Robots, etc...just about anything "retro". So you know he has to do a few pieces of art that are about the 1966 Batman TV Show! Let's take a look at them. The 1st one is kinda weird, but in a good way. It's a parody of the graphics from an old Vintage Poster for the '66 Batman Movie. Adam West is shown wearing RED tights which is pretty groovy because that's how he looked on some foreign movie posters. The next 2 are an homage to the famous 1966 LIFE Magazine Cover featuring Adam West. The 1st one is pretty straight-forward & looks just like the original, very cool. The 2nd one shows different color variations & looks very much like Pop Art done by Andy Warhol. If you would like to see more artwork by this guy, or just read his blog, then here's a link, click HERE! Oh yeah, while there be sure to click on that button ( top, right-hand side ) that says, "Art Prints".

VINTAGE BATMAN TOYS - Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday!

OK, since today is "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday" and the Bat-Blog is mainly all about the love of collecting Vintage Batman Toys, I thought that today's Desktop Backgrounds would be "Retro Bat-Toy" related. The 1st one is the totally beautiful BOX ART for the 1970's MEGO BATMAN BATCAVE PLAYSET! This is one of those vinyl case toys that open-up to become an environment for dolls or figures. In this case, it's the Mego Doll 8"Action Figures...CRAZY! The next wallpaper uses the graphics found on an original package of 1966 BATMAN TV SHOW VIEW-MASTER REELS. I used to completely love these things as a little kid & would stare at them for hours, ha ha! Now, if you don't like these backgrounds then please keep in mind that we have hundreds more here at the Bat-Blog! Just click the button down below for the most current ones ( around the last 20 or so ) or be sure to check the BAT-BLOG ARCHIVES ( located at the lower left-side of this page ) for many many more!

PODCAST INTERVIEW - Batman: The Brave & Bold Producers at WORD BALLOON

Lately I have been really getting into Podcasts. My favorite genre is listening to in-depth interviews with people in the comic book art, publishing, or animation industry. Here's one I listened to last night which was great! It's a podcast called WORD BALLOON. It's a little over an hour of John Siuntres' conversation with the two producers of the Cartoon Network animated series Batman: The Brave And Bold, James Tucker and Michael Jellenic. We get previews of plots and characters that are coming up in this new second season. So, if you're a fan of the TV show & like behind-the-scene-type stuff then be sure to check it out, click HERE!
