DC Direct just announced a brand-new BATMAN Statue to keep an eye out for in the future. This is the "Batman Bust" from the HEROES OF THE DC UNIVERSE, SERIES 2. It was designed by Gary Frank & sculpted by Artist Jean St. Jean. This cold-cast porcelain bust measures approx. 5 3/4" high x 5" wide x 5" deep and will have a suggested retail price of $ 75.00. It's planned to go on Sale April 4th, 2012. So, look for it then.

DC Direct just announced another BATMAN BLACK & WHITE STATUE. This one is designed by PATRICK GLEASON and sculpted by PHIL RAMIREZ.
Patrick Gleason's concept on this statue was inspired by his current work on BATMAN AND ROBIN.

Here's a clever "Toy Review" video I found the other night on the new Batman DC Chronicles Statue. The interesting thing about it is that there is NO talking but the guy just shows the statue very close-up from many different angles. Seeing this, it's making me really like this new piece. The statue is sculpted by Tim Buckner & is basically the way the Dark Knight looked in his very 1st appearance, sort of a "1939 version". Our good friend Reis, who writes the cool GEEK ORTHODOX blog, recently posted these 2 photos showing a BLAMMOIDS Batman Action Figure he bought. It's the 1st time I have ever seen what the packaging looks like so I thought I would share them here. Even though this line of DC Direct figures is extremely weird & even kinda ugly. Some of them are actually starting to grow on me a little bit. I might have to get a few of them, at least the Batman one....or maybe The Joker, ha! Well, it looks like DC Direct is going to release a few statues to capitalize on the popularity of it's new multi-player video game titled DC UNIVERSE ONLINE. Now, for people who have not heard of this game it's going to be a lot like "World of Warcraft" where you can become any DC Comics Comic Book Character & then enter the DC Universe ( Batman's Gotham City, Superman's Metropolis, & other famous places ). It's been totally art directed by Jim Lee so you know it will look extremely cool! In fact, he's the artist who designed each statue here: Batman & Catwoman! They are both a hand-painted, cold-cast porcelain figure measuring a little over 7" tall & will be packaged in a 4-color box. WOW! I know a lot of Batman Fans are totally excited right now about the next animated film from Warner Bros / DC Universe because they're doing BATMAN: UNDER THE RED HOOD.
