Shown here are a few prototype pics of 2 Brand-New BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT Movie Plastic Model Kits that will be released by Moebius Models near the end of September, 2011. They're gonna make a Tumbler Batmobile ( 1:25 Scale ), a Bat-Pod Motorcycle( 1:25 Scale ),and a Set of 3 Figures ( no photos on those yet ). The best picture here is the Bat-Pod, click on it for way more detail. They're gonna retail for around $15 so be sure to look for them later. Also, once we get better pics we will share them here.
For this week's "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday" I thought I would post a few Batman Backgrounds that celebrate the new 2012 movie, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. So, here are a few scenes when they were filming in Pittsburgh.
The 1st one show Selina Kyle ( Anne Hathaway's Stunt Double ) stealing the Bat-Pod from Gotham City University. I wish this was Anne Hathaway in the official Catwoman Cat-Suit ( no release of that Costume photo yet, but stay tuned to the Bat-Blog.Com ). I think that this is only what she wears early on to steal the vehicle.
OK, speaking of Bat-Vehicles, the next wallpaper is of the Tumbler Batmobile, which will make an early appearance in the film too. Also, it's the "Camouflage" version. I guess it's not been painted black yet, ha!
Here at the Bat-Blog we love it when Batman Fans get creative & use their inspiration of the character as a means to create ART! Here are 2 great examples: The 1st photo is a sculpture bust made by our friend Pete. It's in the early stages, but it will be used to make a latex mask bat-cowl. Now the funny thing is that Pete told me this was going to be a "Keaton BATMAN Movie" version, and he didn't even need to say that. I mean, just look at it, IT IS TOTALLY Michael Keaton!
Next up is a Bat-Vehicle I saw awhile back on eBay. It's a Custom Golf Cart designed to look like the Tumbler Batmobile from the recent Batman movies. Now, I don't play golf, but I would completely love to own this cool toy! ( Hint, Hint: My birthday is in January, ha! )
OK, here are 2 pretty interesting "Dark Knight Rises" videos that have surfaced lately. One shows the Actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt Filming Scene in a snow-covered Gotham City. Basically, he's walking around with a gas can & you can also see the Tumbler Batmobile driving around.
In the next video we get to see the Tumbler Batmobile and a HEMTT Military Truck Driving on a Snow Covered Street! WOO HOO! Ok, it's really not that exciting, no action, just moving down the street. but this 2nd vehicle is pretty cool. I mean, it looks EVIL!
Check out this amazing photo taken in Pittsburgh, during the filming of the new Batman movie, by our friend & Bat-Reporter Chris Walker! ( Click on it for a larger pic ). It's a photo of the TUMBLER BATMOBILE ( Camouflage version ) sitting in fake snow. If you study the picture you can see large blocks of "fake snow" in the foreground. Also, you can look at other parts of the street that are not covered with snow. Yes, the magic of Hollywood! Yes! THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Batman movie is really getting underway! Here's a video showing the "Camouflage Version" of the Tumbler cruising the streets of Pittsburgh! Actually, there are 3 of them. I guess they either have back-up ones or they each perform a different function...cool!
Check out this new BATMAN Merchandise that just became available. Here are 2 Glass Tumblers with humorous sayings & retro-style bat-graphics. In fact, if you're a Vintage Toy Collector you'll probably notice the "Batmobile" image is the Kenner Superpowers Action Figure Vehicle. Yes, this clip art is from the 1980's. One glass says, "Wanna Come To My Bat Cave?", & the other one is "Chicks Dig The Ride!", ha ha! I really like these & someday, they will be MINE! I know the title for this post is kinda lame. I know I'm suppose to come up with something funny or extremely clever but I'm just not in the mood this morning, OK? ha ha! So, let's get right to it. Recently the Bat-Blog made a new friend in Taiwan named Jerry. Right off the bat he sent us some amazing pictures of Batman Fandom from the other side of the world. OK, I know the Internet has been around for almost 3 decades now but I'm still amazed ( like a Caveman ) about the quick & easy communication with people from anywhere on the globe, it's like magic...I love it! Anyway, Jerry's a nice guy & really into Batman, so that's cool. The 1st pic is a display of some of his favorite Large-Size Toy Batmobiles. You have the Batmobile from the later Animated Series, the Tumbler from The Dark Knight movie, the car from Batman: The Animated Series ( I've always totally loved that car ), the Tim Burton movie car, the Futuristic Flying Batmobile from Batman Beyond, & one of the Vehicles from a later Joel Schumacher Film, Batman Forever. AWESOME!! It's really cool to see them all together like this! Plus, it's a very nice collection. Now the next group of 3 photos is a Japanese Magazine owned by Jerry. It looks like the main cover story is all about the incredible Dolls, Toys, & Action Figures made by HOT TOYS for the DARK KNIGHT movie. I can't read any of this, ha ha, but visually it looks so great & I really love it too! They covered the Christian Bale & Heath Ledger Figures, the Bat-Pod Motorcycle, the Giant-Size Tumbler Vehicle, & some misc ( mainly the Joker Art Bust ). Look at how I decorated for Halloween this year! The neighborhood kids really loved it. No, it's not mine, just kidding, ha ha! This is the work of an extremely creative guy named Jerjod. It took him a whole year to construct all this stuff for his 2009 Halloween Batman Display. In the driveway is a Tumbler Batmobile Replica Car he made. He also made a Life-Size Mechanical Manikin of Batman in costume that moved around. There were Battery Controlled "Wing-Flapping Bats" that hung from the trees & he even had a HUGE Bat-Symbol light shining on his house that took up the entire garage-area section!! WOW!
